Karl Matakatea

Biography

Hi, I’m Karl, one-half of the Sold on the Kapiti Team. It is amazing to think that it has been five years since Chris and I combined as a team to start this part of our real estate journey. We have quite different personalities, but that is just one of the reasons we get on and work so well together.

I have a love for home renovation, interior design and fashion; at one point I owned over 100 pairs of trainers. My clothes, especially my shirts, are a reflection of my personality. I’m a very social and loyal person, maintaining friendships with many friends from my days at college.

I am always open to new experiences, and I enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures. For a period of time, I lived and worked in the Philippines. I have also done a stint on television, which gave me a whole new perspective on reality TV.

Running my own business with Chris, I have drawn on my experience as a trainer for CoreLogic NZ and a large national real estate company. I couldn’t have anyone better by my side to share the highs and lows of the real estate Industry with.

Most importantly, I couldn’t do this without the support of my partner and the unconditional love of our two labradoodles, Charlie and Mr Darcy.
